The third of this year’s competitions, the Mixed Doubles, took place at the Carrefour terrains on Saturday 6th July, kindly sponsored by Snap and Integritas Wealth Partners.
Eleven pairs took part with four timed rounds played to decide the semi-finalists.
Top after the timed rounds were dawn Buckley & Geoffroy Buffetrille with four wins, plus 24. They played Nicky Maindonald & Alan Lahiffe (3 wins plus 4). The other semi final was between Elaine Paisnel & Brian Harris (3 wins plus 11) and Cassie Stewart-Le Gallais & Ross Payne (3 wins plus 16).
Dawn & Geoffroy beat Nicky & Alan 13-10 and Elaine & Brian had a slightly easier win 13-6.
In the final, play was even until with a couple of ends to go, Elaine and Brian pulled away and won 13-9. Alan & Nicky had a tougher match against Cassie & Ross but eventually came out on top 13-12.
The next championship is the Mens & Women’s Doubles on August 17th at the Liberation terrains at the Weighbridge.
