This year’s Island Men’s & Women’s Doubles competition took place at the terrains of the Jersey Pétanque Club on Saturday 15th August.
In the Woman’s event, seven teams took part, which is a big improvement on previous year’s. Each team played every other and the winners were Joy Hart and Bridie Hunter, with last year’s champions Lorna Limbrick and Judy Andrews-Callec second. The bronze medal went to three time winners Christine Eccles and Wendy Ritzema.

The men’s competition saw sixteen entries, with four preliminary rounds to decide the top eight.
Those positioned nine to twelve took part in semis and a final for the “Plate” event, with Andy Limbrick & Jack Nicholls beating Daniel & James Villalard 13-3 and Ross Payne & Jake Romeril winning over Kevin Daly & Gary Boschat 13-0. In the final, Andy & Jack took the honours.
The quarter-finals of the main event saw Alan Lahiffe & Mat Scholefield beat John Figuedero & Robin Churchill, Graham Toudic & Keth White win over Tony Morton & Alex Stewart, Andy Bellamy-Burt & Callum Stewart beat Gary Cowburn & Trevor Holden and Derek Hart & Steve Foster lose out to Geoffroy Buffetrille & Matt Pinel.
In the semi-finals, Geoffroy & Matt beat Alan & Mat and Andy & Callum beat Keith & Graham. The champions were Geoffroy & Matt, with Andy & Callum second and Graham & Keith third.
