Stewart Makes it Three in a Row
– In the 2026 Open Triples, held at the Carrefour terrains on Saturday 4th July, Callum Stewart added this competition to his wins in the Men’s Singles and Men’s Triples for 2026.
Fifteen teams took part in the competition, with the top eight progressing to the quarter finals. Ninth & tenth played for a “Plate” final, with Ross Churchill, John Lane & Alan Oliviera beating Jon de Figueirdo, Cliff Andrews-Callec & Keith Lajoie 13-2.
The quarter finals saw 2025 champions Geoffroy Buffetrille, Laurent Pellaton & Matt Pinel win 13-2 against Andy & Lorna Limbrick & Nicky Maindonald, Joy & Derek Hart & Steve Foster beat James Gennoe, Ross Payne & Neil Selby 13-6, Alan Lahiffe, Steve Leathem & Mat Scholefied have a close win over Gary Boschat, Graham Toudic & Keth White 13-11 and Andy Bellamy-Burt, Jake Romeril & Callum Stewart beat Sue Boschat, Christine Eccles & Paul Waters 13-2.
In the semi finals, the Harts & Foster beat Alan Lahiffe’s team 13-3 and Callum Stewart’s trio won over Pinel, Pellaton & Buffetrille, 13-8.
The third place match was a long game with Lahiffe, Schofield & Leatham eventually winning 13-8 against last year’s champions. The final was more one-sided, with Callum, Andy & Jake getting a good win over Foster & the Harts, 13-2.
