Island Triples 2022

Geoffroy, Laurent & Matt Retain Title

Matt Buesnel, Geoffroy Buffetrille & Laurent Pellaton made it two in a row when they won the Island Triples on Saturday 3rd September at Carrefour Petanque Club’s terrains.

The trio just topped their group of five teams by one point from second placed Alan Lahiffe, Andy Limbrick & Steve Leatham. In the other group (of six) Gary Cowburn, Brian Harris & Wendy Ritzema came top with five wins and second with four wins were Joy & Derek Hart & Steve Foster.

In the semi finals, Foster and the Harts pushed Laurent, Matt & Geoffroy close and lost a nail biting match 12-13. In the other semi, Alan, Andy & Steve beat Wendy, Brian & Gary 13-6.

In the final, Laurent’s team raced into the lead before the three Ls started coming back but couldn’t keep the pressure up with Laurent, Matt & Geoffroy winning 13-5. Third place went to Steve, Derek & Joy, beating Wendy’s team 13-7.
