First JPA Competition of 2024 –
In the first Island Championship of 2024 (sponsored by Integritas Wealth Partners and Snap), Nicky Maindonald of CPC and Toby Northern of LPC were the names on the trophies.
In the Men’s competition, 12 players took part in five preliminary rounds, with the top four going through to the semi finals. Toby Northern, Andy Bellamy-Burt & Ross Payne all had four wins and Neil Selby, on three wins plus 16, just edged Geoffroy Buffetrille on three wins plus 9 into the fourth spot. Laurent Pellaton was the only other player to get three wins.
In the semis, Andy beat Neil 13-3 and Toby won over Ross, 13-6. The third place game saw Ross beat Neil 13-4 and in the final, Toby claimed the title for the third time by winning 13-6 over Andy.

Six players took part in the Women’s competition with all playing each other. The top two, with four wins each (Joy Hart & Nicky Maindonald) played the final, with Nicky winning 13-8. Bridie Hunter & Wendy Ritzema, who finished third & fourth with three and two wins respectively, played for the third spot, with Wendy taking the bronze position 13-8.
