Mixed Doubles 2023 – Part One!

The 2023 Mixed Doubles took place at the Weighbridgfe terrains on Saturday 8th July and all went well until half way through the quarter-finals, when things went swimmingly!

Fourteen teams took part in the competition, with the first four rounds played in accordance with the Swiss System, efficiently manually calculated by Neil Selby.

The top eight went on to the quarter finals but by the end of that game, the terrains were waterlogged. The event will continue later in the year, provisionally 14th October, where the semi-finalists will be Elaine Paisnel & Brian Harris, who beat Brigitte Ibitson & James Gennoe in the timed quarter-finals 13-12 versus Katrina & Trevor Holden (Ella-Jay Limbrick & Alan Lahiffe 12-7) and Wendy Ritzema & Gary Cowburn (Dawn Buckley & Geoffroy Buffetrille 12-9) against last year’s champions, Cassie Stewart & Ross Payne (Hattie Bunyan & Ellis Turmel 13-5).
