Knockout Cup 2022

A New Name on the Trophy?

The final of the 2022 KO Cup took place at the JPC terrains on Saturday 29th October and saw some superb play between the Summer league’s top two teams, Grantez and La Hague Tigers.

After the two doubles rounds, honours were even, with Tigers Mark Nicol & Jake Romeril beating Grantez’s Geoffroy Buffetrille & Keith Pinel 13-4 and Matt Pinel & Matt Buesnel 13-8. Tigers other pair, Paul Bell & Neil Selby lost to the two Matts 1-13 and Geoffroy & Keith 3-13.

In the singles, Mark won against Keith 13-6, leaving Tigers up 3-2 on games but down 44-43 on points; whoever won the triples would win as if the match ended three all, Grantez would triumph on points difference.

However, the Tigers trio took the game 13-6, a scoreline that did not reflect the quality of the game, meaning that they are the 2022 KO Cup winners.

La Hague Tigers – Neil, Dawn Buckley, Paul, Jake & Mark

Grantez – Matt Buesnel, Geoffroy, Matt Pinel & Keith
