Pètanque gets a makeover thanks to a new sponsorship deal
A fresh new look and an exciting new sponsorship package have launched a new era for the sport of pétanque in Jersey. Local wealth advisory and financial planning specialists, Integritas Wealth Partners, and digital-first creative agency, Snap, have agreed a joint three-year deal to promote the sport and raise the profile of its governing body, the Jersey Pétanque Association.
“These are exciting times for us,” said JPA chairman Dave Ibitson. “We’ve got a new brand identity which we launched this weekend when Jersey took part in the Home Nations competition at Troon in Scotland. And we’ve secured a sponsorship deal which we hope will have a huge impact on the development of our sport.”
The new branding and website conceptualised kit designed by the award-winning creative team at St Helier-based Snap represents a complete makeover for the sport. It’ll now be referred to as ’Petanque Jersey’, featuring a distinctive dark grey and gold colour scheme centred on a sharp new logo, a striking representation of the pattern of grooves on a pétanque boule.
Snap’s CEO Tom Le Sueur said: “Pétanque is such an accessible and enjoyable sport. We shared the vision of Pétanque Jersey to raise the profile of the sport in the island and get more people playing. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing families, friends and competitors connecting through sport. We hope our support with the branding, website and sponsorship will help Pétanque Jersey support the existing membership, reach a wider audience and enrich even more lives.”
The investment will bolster the sport in several key areas. It will help support competitions in Jersey and at the same time enable teams and individuals to take part in international events. And it’s hoped that it will help boost the youth development programme, seen as essential to the long-term future of pétanque in Jersey.
Integritas Wealth Partners, is a company which provides bespoke financial planning services for its clients. It has already demonstrated a strong commitment to the Island’s sporting community, being sponsors of First Tower United Football Club, Integritas Hockey Club, Integritas Cricket Club and St Ouen Springfield Cricket Club, as well as being supporters of Jersey Reds and Jersey Red Athletic RFC.
Edward Loader, Manager Director of Integritas Wealth Partners commented: “We are delighted to collaborate with Snap Design & Digital and sign a three-year sponsorship deal as joint headline sponsors for the Jersey Pétanque Association. We wish the Pétanque Jersey team every success in their championship competitions during 2022 and beyond.”
Pétanque was one of the few sports that managed to keep going during the Covid shutdown, albeit in a limited form. It’s an attractive proposition for sponsors because it encompasses players of all ages and all abilities and can be played with the minimum outlay in terms of the equipment and playing areas.
