Jersey aim to Qualify for 2026 World Championship Triples
– A team from Jersey will be travelling to Luxembourg for the European qualifying round for the 2026 Triples World Championships, to be held in Malaysia.
Hosted by Fédération Luxembourgeoise de Boules et de Pétanque on Saturday 29th November, 18 teams will be vying for nine places.
Twelve teams – Italy, France, Belgium, Monaco, Sweden, Turkey, Germany, Denmark, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Spain and Finland have already qualified for the 2026 event, by virtue of their finishing position in the European Triples championship, but with 21 places allocated to Europe, another nine teams have the opportunity to take part.
The 18 teams, which include England, Scotland & Wales as well as Jersey, will compete over five rounds in the Swiss system to decide the remaining places.
The Jersey team is Andy Bellamy-Burt, Toby Northern, Matt Pinel and Callum Stewart, with Geoffroy Buffetrille as Head of Delegation and James Gennoe as Coach.
