Jersey Fail to Qualify for 2026 World Championship Triples
– Despite a good performance against strong teams, Jersey did not do enough in the European qualifying round for the 2026 Triples World Championships.
Hosted by Fédération Luxembourgeoise de Boules et de Pétanque on Saturday 29th November, 19 teams were playing for the remaining nine places allocated to Europe for the event.
Jersey were given a bye in Round one, meaning they had a 13-7 “win”, a good start. They then beat Scotland 13-7 in round two, meaning another win would almost certainly take them through.
However, losses of 7-13 against Andorra, 6-13 to Israel and a close last game against a strong firing Slovakia of 9-11 meant that Jersey finished 12th out of 19.
