Jersey Retain Inter-Insular Trophy
– The long delayed and twice postponed 2025 Inter-Insular finally took place at the Weighbridge terrains on Saturday 18th July.
Jersey made a good start by winning 10 of the 12 singles games and consolidated their lead by coming top in four of the first six doubles games. The second round of doubles saw honours even, so Jersey needed to win one of the four triples matches to win.
When Jersey went badly behind in three of the triples games, the outcome looked tight but with great play, the local players pulled it back to win all four games, thereby retaining the trophy by a margin of 36 points to 12.
It is hoped that this year’s competition, to be held in Guernsey, will take place in early October.
